Job Description:

Within a stimulating and challenging environment that promotes Agile development methodologies (ATDD, TDD, Continuous Integration, etc.) and that uses the SCRUM framework for project management, we are looking for a Technical Support Engineer that can actively provide technical assistance and training to customers and resellers by performing the following duties. The equipment being supported is an Ethernet Demarcation Device.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide support and technical issue resolution via E-Mail, phone and other electronic medium.
  • Provide pre and post-sales support to our sales team and resellers.
  • Set up equipment to simulate a customer’s network to assist the test and development team in reproducing issues.
  • Provide training to clients, resellers and our sales team in person and using web sharing tools (Webex).
  • Obtain good understanding of OS and application operations related our company’s EMS (Element Management Systems). (Sun platform, Oracle database) that we support for our customers.
  • Identify and log any defects that need to be escalated to the development or production team.
  • Be available for 24/7 on-call support, approximately one week per month.
  • Be available for travel.
Requirements/ Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree or equivalent experience in telecommunications (minimum 5 years).
  • CCNA or CCNE or MEF Professional is an asset.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Passionate and self-motivated with the ability to learn quickly and independently.
  • Team player capable to interact efficiently within multi-disciplinary engineering team.
  • Pragmatic approach to problem solving.
  • “Can-Do” attitude to overcome any kind of challenges.
