Job Description:
Accedian Networks, the leading provider of High Performance Service Assurance™ solutions for Carrier Ethernet networks, is looking for a strong leader to oversee a team of technical Sales Engineers across North America. In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating and providing guidance to the sales engineering team whose purpose is to provide pre-sales technical support to develop and recommend solutions to Company direct sales teams to meet customers’ business requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and assist team in providing technical sales support for customer facing account managers/directors in conceptualizing, qualifying, positioning and closing complex/integrated technology solutions.
- Manage resource allocation to projects and customer deployments to ensure that sales engineers are used effectively and are supporting the sales team, customer requests and customer inquiries.
- Oversee the Company process in responding to RFQs, RFIs, and RFPs to ensure that we are providing consistent and timely responses across the region.
- Design and implement an effective training program to increase skills and knowledge base for Sales Engineering team.
- Act as a mentor and go-to person for the team for technical expertise and escalated issue.
- Perform all management responsibilities including planning, coaching, performance management, appraisals, etc.
- Conduct presentations to both customer and internal audiences, communicating the functionality and benefits for specific products, services and integrated solutions.
- Identify and remedy all technical issues of assigned accounts to assure complete customer satisfaction through all stages of the sales process.
- Manage a knowledge database, and keep abreast of new developments in the industry by attending shows, conferences and engaging in forum discussions.
Requirements/ Qualifications:
- Must have a minimum of 10 years of prior experience working in a sales engineer (post/pre support) role with at least 2 years in a supervisory role
- Prior experience with Ethernet/telecom products in the wireless space is highly desired.
- Must have a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent industry related experience.
- Must demonstrate creative problem solving and proven leadership abilities.
- Must have strong written and verbal communication skills and be able to effectively articulate technology and product positioning to both business and technical users.
- Must be able to maintain a functional home office and travel extensively by air and car within the assigned territory or region.
