Job Description:
Reporting to the Vice-President of Operations, the Director of IT (Information Technology) is responsible for the day to day operations of the IT department in both our corporate office in Montreal as well as supporting our global field operations and satellite offices. The Director is responsible for the implementation of systems and tools, as well as managing the telephony and data infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
In this role, you will be involved in the management of the day to day IT operations as aligned to the established business objectives. You will be responsible for the management, building and planning of the IT team. As this is a critical role in the development and implementation of business tools and process, you will liaise with the management team, key stakeholders and the operations team to assess, plan and deploy the necessary tools and systems needed to support our continued growth.
Additional duties include:
- IT projects and system implementation, as well as collaborative tools with key suppliers and contract manufacturers
- Prioritizing the use of IT resources
- Assist with the development of information system standards
- Remote sales personnel technical support and implementation
- Vendor management including carriers, service providers, hardware providers, hosted solution providers and other
- IT procurement
- Ongoing mentoring, development of training and certification plans for IT personnel
- Assist in occasional, off-hours support, upgrades, and changes to network devices
- Planning, decision-making, facilitating and process improvement
Requirements/ Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of experience in managing a multi-site IT infrastructure, coupled with a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related degree. You have a proven track record in managing, leading and developing a team of IT personnel. You have a strong background in managing core infrastructure in both voice and data; TCP/IP networks, VoIP, telephony, and other systems and client applications.
You have a proven ability in working with Executives & Business Analysts determining existing and future client requirements and IT capital costs associated with implementation of large scale systems (i.e.) ERP, CRM, Manufacturing
Additional experiences will include;
- Resource monitoring, capacity planning, systems lifecycle management
- Experience in change management and deployment of new systems
- Previous experience developing and maintaining business continuity planning
- Hardware and software inventory (asset) tracking
- Proven ability to handle multiple deadlines and set priorities
- Strong customer service orientation
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communications skills in both English and French
Experience working in an environment required to meet specific regulations and certifications (i.e., Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX), ISO and others) is an asset.
