Chairman of the Board

George Riedel, Chief Strategy Officer and President, Business Units, Nortel

George Riedel is responsible for leading Nortel's corporate strategy including mergers and acquisitions as part of the Company's ongoing restructuring activities. He is also President of the remaining Business Units at Nortel.

Prior to joining Nortel, Riedel was vice president, strategy and corporate development for Juniper Networks, leading corporate strategy, business development and mergers and acquisitions. His previous career experience includes 15 years at the management consulting firm of McKinsey and Company, where he co-led telecom and high-tech practices in North America and Asia. He has also served as an engineering manager at Exxon Co. USA. In addition to Accedian Networks, Riedel also sits on the boards of Blade Networks and Chromatic Systems.

Reidel holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering with distinction from the University of Virginia. He is based in Boston.

Board Members

Thomas H. Jennings, Managing Director, Summit Partners

Based in Summit's Boston office, Tom joined the firm as an Associate in 1997 and today co-heads the firm's venture capital activities in North America, Europe and Asia.

During his 13 years with Summit Partners, Tom has served as a director of numerous software, technology, healthcare and life sciences companies. He is currently a director of ApoCell, AvePoint and Telerik and is actively involved with the firm's investments in Casa Systems, IMMCO Diagnostics, NameMedia, NetWitness Corporation and OB Hospitalist Group. Tom's prior investments and directorships include Anesthetix Holdings (acquired by TeamHealth), Burst Media Corporation (AIM: BRST), Commnet Wireless (acquired by Atlantic Tele-Network, Inc.), Fermentas International (acquired by Thermo Fisher Scientific), Hatcher Associates (acquired by Corillian Corporation), Sage Telecom and Unica Corporation (NASDAQ: UNCA).

Paul J. Milbury – Board Member

Paul Milbury has over 30 years of experience exercising financial, operational and governance responsibilities in the technology sector. Over the course of his distinguished career, Paul Milbury has been involved with technology companies ranging from start-up to mid-cap and large cap.

In 2010, he left Cisco Systems after assisting with the integration of Starent Networks, a provider of mobile network solutions, into Cisco. Paul was a key member of Starent’s leadership team through the company’s IPO process in 2007 and its sale to Cisco Systems in December 2009 for $2.9 billion. From 2000-2007, he was Chief Financial Officer at Avid Technology, a digital media creation, management and distribution solutions company. He also served as Vice President and Treasurer of Digital Equipment Corp, a $15 billion global technology firm that was acquired by Compaq Computer for $10 billion in 1998. Paul also served as CFO of start-ups iBelong and JuniorNet. Mr. Milbury is a member of the boards of Infinera Corp, a digital optical networking company and Crossbeam Systems, a network security company.

Patrick Ostiguy, President & Chief Executive Officer, Accedian Networks

Patrick Ostiguy co-founded Avantas Networks in 1999 and launched the industry's first portable Ethernet and SONET field-services test-set. In 2001, Avantas Networks was acquired for $100M by EXFO Electro-Optical Engineering where he continued his role in product management and participated in several M&A activities at the corporate level. In 1995, Patrick was also part of the initial Positron Fiber Systems (PFS) team that commercialized the industry's first Ethernet over SONET Multi-Service Provisioning Platform (MSPP). This was later acquired, first by Reltec in 1997, and subsequently by Marconi for $200M.

With over a decade of pertinent telecom industry experience, Patrick was responsible for filing of several Patent Applications (patents pending) and publishing dozens of industry conference proceedings and technology articles. Patrick brings to Accedian Networks a solid background in Product Management and Marketing, a proven track-record managing product development programs, and a strong understanding of service provider needs.

Antoine Paquin, Partner, Rho Canada

Prior to joining Rho Canada in 2006, Antoine developed extensive experience with a 15 year background in technology as both an entrepreneur and an investor. Antoine worked as a founding entrepreneur and CEO at Skystone Systems, Philsar Semiconductor, BitFlash and Axiom Microdevices. He holds a Masters in Project Management from the Universite de Quebec and a Bachelor of Engineering, Systems and Computers, from Carleton University. Antoine currently serves on the board of Javaground, GMP Capital, and Pyrophotonics.

Larry Perron, Partner, Skypoint Corporation

Larry joined Skypoint in December 2003, drawing on over two decades of business and technical experience to identify and evaluate new investment opportunities, structure financings, and mentor the Skypoint portfolio on operational best practices. Prior to Skypoint, Larry was a Founder and Senior Partner at Venture Coaches, where he was involved in the formation of technology start-ups in the wireless and semiconductor sectors.

Larry began his career at Mitel Semiconductor as an Application Engineer in 1985 and rose to the position of Director of IC Product Management. He later joined Toshiba of Canada as the Regional Head of Product Marketing for the Application Specific Integrated Circuit product line. In 1993, Larry joined Newbridge, where he held the position of Assistant Vice-President of Business Development and led various mergers and acquisitions and technology partnering initiatives. Larry holds a Bachelor of Engineering from the University of Ottawa Co-operative Program and is a member of Professional Engineers of Ontario.

Pierre Trudeau, Founder and Chief Technology Officer, Colubris Networks

Pierre Trudeau is an experienced R&D leader with more than 25 years of software development experience. Trudeau founded Colubris in 2000 with a team of industry-recognized software and security technologists. Building from this core, the efforts of the Colubris technology team have enabled the highly efficient processing and packaging of a portfolio of strong security tools in a small-form-factor wireless LAN access point. Trudeau also successfully steered the company as President through its initial growth stage.

Immediately prior to founding Colubris, Trudeau was the Vice President of Research & Development at TouchTunes Digital Jukebox, a provider of secure digital music distribution technology. Previously, he was the Director of the Advanced Communications Division of Eicon Technology Corporation, a worldwide provider of secure connectivity products for the ISDN, ADSL, VPN, and X.25 markets. Trudeau began his career in LAN protocol software development with Videoway and Philips Information Systems. He holds a M.Sc. and B.Sc. in Computer Science from Sherbrooke University.
