Qwest has launched its “iQ E-Line” service, a fully-managed Ethernet service offering highly-granular bandwidth in increments from 5 Megabits per second up to 1 Gigabit per second.
When combined with multiplexing, the solution allows for hub-and-spoke multi-site connections within or between any of E-Line’s 16 markets currently for long-haul and metro applications: Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Houston, Indianapolis, Kansas City, Mo., Los Angeles, New York, Newark, N.J., Philadelphia, Phoenix, Sunnyvale, Calif., Tampa, Fla., and Washington, D.C.

The amount of spectrum available for mobile broadband represents about a three-fold increase over where we were a few years ago, says Federal Communications Commission chairman Julius Genachowski. “Sounds good, until you see the forecasts of a 35 times increase in mobile broadband traffic over the next five years.”
“And I believe that projection is conservative, not fully accounting for the explosive growth of tablets and what I predict we’ll see from 4G.”
